Kent served as president of Northwest Seminary and College from 2010 to 2021 and as a full-time member of the faculty since 1996. Northwest, located in Langley, British Columbia, serves Fellowship Pacific churches and beyond. It is affiliated with Trinity Western University and is a founding member of the ACTS Seminaries consortium.
Kent recently resigned this position effective March 6, 2021, in order to accept the position of president of Providence University College and Theological Seminary.
During his time as president, Kent led the organization through a major restructuring. He led the seminary to full accreditation with The Association of Theological Schools. He also led the seminary to the establishment of Immerse, the first accredited competency-based masters degree in theological education offered anywhere in the world.
